Good cheekbones greatly enhance facial harmony and attractiveness. Patients with flat or hollow cheekbones can see dramatic results with cheek implant surgery. The goal of Houston plastic surgeons Dr. Russell Kridel and Dr. Sean Delaney is for you to achieve natural results tailored specifically to you, and not to just add prominent cheekbones.

What Sets Us Apart

As board-certified facial plastic surgeons, Dr. Russell Kridel and Dr. Sean Delaney focus exclusively on aesthetic surgery for the face, head, and neck, and have won numerous awards from peers and patients for their surgical expertise and quality patient care. Patients, including family members, come from Houston and throughout the country for surgery because of their recognized skills and experience in this area.

Surgical Technique

Cheek augmentation surgery takes about an hour. Dr. Kridel and Dr. Delaney utilize a special medical-grade implant to restore a youthful contour to the cheeks. These come in a variety of shapes and sizes, easily tailored for each patient. To insert the implant, Dr. Kridel and Dr. Delaney will make an incision inside the mouth, between the upper gums and cheek. The soft cheek tissue is elevated, and a pocket is created over the cheekbone. Then, they slide the implant through the incision and stitch it in place.

Everyone was very nice, professional, and helpful. No detail was missed from pre op and forward. I would recommend Dr. Kridel to others.

During/After Surgery

Cheek augmentation is an outpatient procedure that is performed under "twilight" iv sedation in our AAAHC-accredited facility or under general anesthesia at a nearby accredited out-patient surgical facility.  Cheek implantation can also be performed in conjunction with other procedures such as Facelift and Necklift. There will be swelling and some numbness, but bruising is uncommon. The swelling subsides gradually and your new look settles in over a period of a few months. Most patients can return to work within a week. However, strenuous exercise should be avoided for a few weeks.

Expected Cost

Dr. Russell Kridel and Dr. Sean Delaney create beautiful and natural results that bring a brighter and more youthful appearance. They are recognized for their surgical expertise and have published cheek implant techniques in scientific medical journals and textbook chapters. The cost for Cheek Implantation surgery range from $6,000 to $10,000 plus cost of the implant and includes surgical fees, FPSA OR (operating room), and Anesthesia fees.

About Us
What are Implants Made of?

The implant is made of medical-grade solid silicone. There are several different types and sizes. Dr. Kridel  and Dr. Delaney will select the most appropriate implant that best complements your facial structure.

Cheek Implant Safety?

Cheek implants have an excellent record for safety and patient satisfaction. At FSPA, we use medical-grade materials, and will be happy to show you samples of implants during your consultation.

Alternatives to Implants?

At the time of your consultation, Dr. Kridel and Dr. Delaney will examine your face and discuss your aesthetic goals to determine the best surgical plan for you. Sometimes, they may recommend a non-surgical approach using an injectable filler, such as Voluma™ or Sculpltra®.

Cheek Implant Permanence?

The results from a cheek implant procedure are permanent. Patients will continue to have the benefits for years to come, although the face will still undergo normal changes as part of the aging process.
