After obtaining his B.S. and B.A. at the University of Southern California, Dr. Sean Delaney earned his medical degree from the USC Keck School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society for scholastic excellence. He also completed his Internship and Residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the USC Keck School of Medicine. Dr. Delaney concluded his training with a prestigious Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship under Dr. Russell W.H. Kridel's tutelage in Houston, Texas. After his Fellowship, Dr. Delaney returned to Pasadena, California where he served as the Director of Facial Plastic Surgery for the Huntington Ear Nose Throat Head & Neck Specialists. In 2021, at Dr. Kridel's invitation, Dr. Delaney returned to Houston, Texas to rejoin the FPSA team.
Dr. Delaney and Dr. Kridel have written and published over eleven scientific journal articles and textbook chapters on advanced surgical techniques for Facelift, Rhinoplasty, Revision Rhinoplasty, and Septal Perforation Repair. Dr. Delaney has also published more than 36 additional journal articles and scientific presentations on head and neck surgery and aesthetic medicine.
Dr. Delaney has traveled and lived in different parts of the world (Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea), giving him a unique perspective on diversity within cultures. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
In his ongoing commitment to improving the quality of patient care and educating future surgeons, Dr. Delaney trains Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery residents from the University of Texas Medical Branch, where Dr. Delaney is a volunteer Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Department of Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Delaney is an active member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, where he is a contributing member of the AAFPRS Foundation Committee, the Texas Medical Association Foundation, and the Harris County Medical Society.
Dr. Delaney serves alongside Dr. Kridel as fellowship co-director of Facial Plastic Surgery Associates’ prestigious fellowship for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship Program. Their fellowship is one of 50 sanctioned programs across the United States and Canada. A fellowship with Dr. Delaney and Dr. Kridel is one of the most sought after by the best and the brightest physicians who have graduated at the top of their respective medical training programs.
Houston facial plastic surgeon Dr. Sean Delaney carries on the FPSA tradition of providing care to survivors of domestic violence by continuing The Face Foundation charitable program, founded by Dr. Russell Kridel in 1995.
The Face Foundation provides surgical care at no fee to financially disadvantaged individuals who are survivors of domestic violence and need to receive restorative or reconstructive facial plastic surgery, especially battered women and children.
