At your pre-op visit you will be given numerous post-op appointments. It is important that you keep all of your follow-up appointments. Here are some post op Rhinoplasty tips that can help your healing process following surgery:

  • Don’t take medicines containing aspirin or ibuprofen
  • Avoid bending or heavy lifting
  • Be careful not to bump your nose and avoid touching any of the dressings
  • Keep from blowing your nose until you are approved to do so
  • Try to sneeze or cough with your mouth open to reduce pressure inside your nose
  • Avoid wearing eyeglasses or sunglasses. If needed, they can be taped above the nose
  • Protect your nose from the sun and use sunscreen

Our patients can contact us at any time. If you have sudden increase in pain, fever, heavy bleeding or other unusual symptoms, you should call us immediately.
