Rhinoplasty with Nasal Valve Repair Following an Injury

Request A Consultation

Description:

This young female disliked her nasal bump, the crooked nature of her nose, and the fact that she had difficulty breathing. During her consultation with Dr. Kridel, she stated she wanted a smaller and straighter nose with less of a bump. Dr. Kridel performed an open rhinoplasty with reduction of a nasal fracture and repair of nasal valves, septoplasty, and bilateral inferior turbinate reduction. Following the surgery the patient had this to say: “Through years and years of basketball, I broke my nose once or twice without even knowing it. I always used to feel self-conscious about my nose and had breathing problems that began interfering with my sleep. Dr. Kridel and his team were able to completely fix all of my problems. They took the utmost care at every stage of my surgery and recovery and always made me feel comfortable. Now my nose is straight and my breathing is exponentially better.”

Age: 18 – 29

Rhinoplasty After Injury

An accident that causes trauma to the nose can leave internal and external damage after a fracture heals. For example, this 21 yr old had nasal fractures resulting in a septal deviation, nasal valve collapse, a bony dorsal hump, and difficulty breathing. The injury also resulted in the appearance of a crooked nose. These were corrected by Dr. Kridel with a Septoplasty, Inferior Turbinate Reduction, and Rhinoplasty. Just 3 months after Rhinoplasty the patient is happy to have a straight nose and a tremendous improvement in her breathing. There will be more subtle improvement as the swelling continues to recede.
