Superlative Training
After obtaining his B.A. at Stanford, Dr. Kridel studied art history in Florence, Italy, and became fascinated with what proved to be a lifelong interest — beauty through the ages. He credits this time as a pivotal period in his development of a keen aesthetic eye, which has set him apart in a field in which a refined artistic sense is of paramount importance. After deciding facial plastic surgery would be his life’s work and passion, he attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his residencies in general surgery and in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery – at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and completed a prestigious AAFPRS fellowship in facial plastic surgery.

Giving Back
In 1995, Houston facial plastic surgeon, Russell Kridel, M.D., established The Face Foundation charitable program. The Face Foundation provides surgical care at no fee to financially disadvantaged individuals who are survivors of domestic violence and need to receive restorative or reconstructive facial plastic surgery, especially battered women and children.
