About Daxxify
Daxxify, which is often referred to as Daxi, is the most recent neuromodulator (neurotoxin) to have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of wrinkles.
What’s different about Daxxify is that it can keep wrinkles at bay for even longer than other neurotoxins. Daxxify patients can stay wrinkle free for 6-9 months, whereas Botox tends to only last for 3-4 months.

Administering Daxxify
Your Daxxify treatment will be performed by Dr. Sean Delaney or by Dr. Russell Kridel during an in-office appointment that takes about 30-45 minutes. Your treatment plan, including the dosage and injection location, is tailored specifically to your facial structure and aesthetic goals. There is no downtime and patients can return home or to work after their appointment.

What To Expect
With Daxxify the effects typically kick in within a couple of days of treatment and last about 6 months on average. Patients can resume their normal activities immediately, but strenuous exercise should be avoided for a few hours.
Immediately following Daxxify injections, there may be some mild swelling and redness at the injection site. This will subside a few hours after the procedure.

What is Daxxify?
Daxxify (daxibotulinumtoxinA or daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm) is a newer FDA-approved injectable medication used to temporarily improve the appearance of frown lines (wrinkles between your eyebrows and in your forehead) in adults. It is in the family of medicines known as neuromodulators, which includes Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, and Xeomin.
The main difference between Daxxify and Botox is how long they provide results. Daxxify results last longer than Botox, typically 2-3 times longer than Botox and the other neurotoxins.

The main difference between Daxxify and Botox is the formulation and how long it lasts.
DAXXIFY is the first product of its kind to use a peptide as a stabilizer, which means it doesn’t contain byproducts from either humans or animals of any kind with results that last an average of 6 months and up to 9 months. Daxxify results last longer than Botox, typically 2-3 times longer than Botox and other neurotoxins.
Best Candidates for Daxxify
Daxxify is an excellent choice for patients who have been using Botox, Dysport or other neurotoxins previously and simply want to be able to have longer lasting effects and fewer injections per year.
For patients that have never had a neurotoxin (muscle relaxer), Daxxify may not be the best choice. With a neurotoxin, the effects can not be reversed. If you don’t like the results you need to wait for it to wear off. Since Daxxify lasts longer, so if you don’t like the outcome, you will need to wait longer for the results to dissipate.
A good analogy would be trying a new hair color. It is much safer to try a temporary color first to make sure you are happy with the result before trying a new permanent hair color.

Daxxify Scientific Studies
The FDA approved Daxxify based on clinical trial data collected on more than 2,700 patients, who received a total of 4,200 treatments. One month after injections, 98 percent of patients had little or no appearance of wrinkles. Half of patients were completely or nearly wrinkle-free at the injection area after six months, and some still had results after nine months.
Are there side effects?
In clinical trials, researchers did not observe any serious treatment-related side effects. The most common side effect seen in the clinical trials were headache, experienced by 6 percent of users.
How does Daxxify work?
Daxxify is a neurotoxin or neuromodulator like Botox and Dysport, so it works in a similar manner. Neuromodulators (also known as wrinkle relaxers) are designed to keep a nerve and muscle from communication. Neuromodulators temporarily relax the facial muscles, preventing them from creating or worsening facial lines and wrinkles.
