Facetite & Accutite

in Houston, TX

As collagen and elastin decrease while your body ages, skin on the neck, jawline, and under the chin begin to loosen and sag. You may even notice increased crepey skin, wrinkles, and fine lines around your face. FaceTite can help combat these signs of aging. This FDA Approved minimally invasive skin-tightening and fat-melting procedure is performed by facial plastic surgeon Dr. Sean Delaney to provide patients with a firmer, more youthful appearance.

What Is Facetite?

FaceTite uses radiofrequency energy to melt and dislodge fat cells and firm up the skin by shrinking collagen fibers and promoting new collagen production. As a result, patients enjoy smoother, tighter facial skin and necklines without the long recovery of a surgical Facelift. FaceTite can effectively treat both the neck and lower face and works well on nearly all skin types and skin textures.

FaceTite uses a minimally invasive process that involves placing a tiny cannula beneath your skin while using local anesthesia. Once the cannula is placed, the temperature of the FaceTite handpiece will be monitored and controlled via internal and external thermometer, ensuring the heat remains at a comfortable temperature. It gently heats the inner and outer layers of skin, causing the tissues to contract and triggering the body’s natural healing process. The radiofrequency energy emitted by the device works to disrupt fat cells while causing the skin to contract, igniting an increase in collagen production.

In the weeks and months following the procedure, the heated fat cells are filtered from the body and collagen regenerates. It can take 3-8 months to see the full effects of FaceTite. The treated area looks tighter, smoother and better defined than it did before the treatment.

If necessary, liposuction under the chin can be performed at the same time. The FaceTite procedure normally takes about 1.5 hours and is performed in our beautiful AAAHC accredited surgical suite under Local Anesthesia with Oral Sedation.

AccuTite

FaceTite and AccuTite are the same technology. However, they are simply named differently because the handpiece for FaceTite is generally used on larger areas, like the jawline and neck areas, where skin gets loose and saggy. The handpiece for AccuTite, on the other hand, is often performed on more finite problems such as a double chin or nasolabial folds or under the eye.

The term “FaceTite” is now used as the overall descriptor for the procedure whether one handpiece is used or both.

Am I a good candidate for FaceTite Surgery?

FaceTite is an excellent option for men and women who want to address common signs of aging without surgery and with minimal downtime. The FDA-approved treatment can noticeably tighten skin and reduce unwanted fat for a more youthful and attractive facial appearance. Good candidates for FaceTite are in their late 30s to early 50s with early formation of wrinkles, fine lines, and loose skin on their face.

Individuals with more significant amounts of loose skin, tissue and displaced fat are probably better suited to a surgical solution such as a mini facelift, lower facelift, and/or neck lift, which lifts and tightens the deeper layers of the face.

What can I expect right after FaceTite procedure?

FaceTite patients can return home on the same day as their FaceTite procedure. The FPSA Team will provide detailed guidelines for recovery and a compression garment to make the process more comfortable. The treated areas will be swollen for about 7 to 10 days, but the bulk of the swelling typically subsides after 3-4 days.

We recommend avoiding strenuous exercises for 1 – 2 weeks following the procedure. This prevents excess swelling and helps the skin heal properly. Sleep with your head elevated on one or two pillows. Some elevation will make you more comfortable as you rest. Apply cool packs to the treatment areas for 10 – 20 minutes at a time, several times a day. Remember to keep ice packs clean and covered. Wear your compression garment as directed. This will minimize swelling and support the skin as it heals.

After the FaceTite procedure you will be seen the very next day in our office for your first post-operative visit. On the morning after the procedure you can expect to have some redness and swelling. Areas of your face and neck may also feel a little tender.

Following your first postoperative visit, you may gently wash your face, shower, and wash your hair.

How long is the recovery time for FaceTite?

Because FaceTite is minimally invasive, downtime is normally limited to three or four days.

The recovery from a FaceTite or AccuTite procedure is considered to be relatively painless and short, with most patients able to resume normal activities within 48 hours and return to work in 3–5 days. The majority of swelling should subside within 3–4 days, with any residual edema going away within a week.

Some results are visible almost immediately following the procedure, but it can take 3-8 months to see the full effects of FaceTite. This is because it takes time for skin tightening to occur from new collagen production. Patients can enjoy natural-looking results that can last for years with proper skin care.

Patients can keep their results long-term by maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Dramatic weight changes may cause additional loose skin, so patients should avoid losing weight too quickly. Additionally, wearing sunscreen and avoiding excessive sun exposure can help slow down the aging process and preserve your new FaceTite results.

Can I combine FaceTite with other procedures?

FaceTite is particularly well suited for the lower face and neck. It can be combined with neck liposuction at the same time, if indicated.  Many patients also combine FaceTite with AccuTite, Blepharoplasty, or non-surgical treatments like Morpheus8. Patients can have the combined procedures performed in the same day.  However, when multiple procedures are done, IV Sedation Anesthesia, rather than Local Anesthesia is required for greater comfort.

What do I need to do before surgery?

We recommend that patients avoid alcohol for two weeks prior to and after your surgery. You should maintain a healthy diet and avoid salt, fatty foods and processed sugar.  Some patients eat pineapple for the anti-inflammatory effect of its naturally occurring Bromelain. We recommend taking Arnica, Bromelain, and Vitamin C supplements 5 days before the surgery and 1 week following surgery.   It is also very important to avoid significant sun exposure. Dr. Delaney does not operate on patients who smoke, chew tobacco, vape or take illicit drugs prior to or at the time of surgery, as these activities have a detrimental effect to the healing process.

Day Of Surgery

What happens on the day of surgery?

Dr. Sean Delaney, Dr. Russell Kridel and the entire FPSA Team provide patients with an exceptional surgical experience in our beautiful practice environment.  Our patients enjoy the comfort, ease and convenience of having Facial Fat Transfer surgery at our fully accredited AAAHC surgical center under IV Sedation.

FaceTite surgery typically takes around 1.5 hours to complete depending on the amount of areas covered.  We ask that you arrive at our facility approximately 1.5 hrs prior to your surgical start time. If you are only having FaceTite you may have a light breakfast.  If you are having multiple procedures with IV Sedation you should have nothing to eat or drink (not even water, candy, or gum) after midnight the night before your procedure You should wear a button-up top or loose-fitting clothing to allow you to change easily without placing unnecessary pressure or stress on the facial area. You may drive yourself home if you have Local Anesthesia.  If you have IV Sedation Anesthesia you will need an adult driver on the day of your procedure to bring you to and from the office and to take you home.
