As one of the most highly regarded Rhinoplasty experts, Dr. Russell Kridel is invited to speak at medical courses all around the world. He believes it is important to train other surgeons to improve the level of care available to patients everywhere. Recently, Dr. Kridel, Houston TX, was a featured presenter at the Rhinoplasty 2012 course in Uberlandia, Brazil. Hundreds of facial plastic and general plastic surgeons attended the conference from all around the world to further develop their own expertise by training with masters of Rhinoplasty and Revision Rhinoplasty, such as Dr. Kridel. Dr. Kridel presented four lectures on Rhinoplasty and Revision Rhinoplasty, including; “Incisions and Aesthetics of the Columella”, “Tip Techniques”, “Alar Notching Repair”, and “Preventing Mistakes in Rhinoplasty—Lessons Learned From Revisions”. In addition, Dr. Kridel was selected as one of the few facial plastic surgery guest speakers to perform a Live Primary Rhinoplasty at the course. Attendees were able to gain deeper insights into the challenges and surgical solutions surrounding Rhinoplasty surgery in real time by observing Dr. Kridel perform a live Rhinoplasty surgical procedure.
Dr. Kridel participated in multiple round tables with other surgeons. You can see additional photos taken at the conference here, including a few photos of the local architecture taken by Dr. Kridel At Facial Plastic Surgery Associates, we always like to remind patients that they should seek a Rhinoplasty specialist who performs at least 75 Rhinoplasty surgeries every year, rather than a plastic surgery specialist who performs only a handful because they are primarily focused on other parts of the body. Rhinoplasty, also known as a Nose Job or Cosmetic Nasal Surgery, is far more complicated than patients realize when looking in the mirror. Dr. Kridel has performed thousands of Revision Rhinoplasty surgical procedures and has seen the mistakes other surgeons have made first hand. Dr. Kridel provided insights to the Rhinoplasty 2012 course attendees to help them avoid these mistakes during his talk, “Preventing Mistakes in Rhinoplasty—Lessons Learned From Revisions”. As Dr. Kridel stated, “while I am always pleased to help patients improve their results through Revision Rhinoplasty, it always saddens me a little bit that an additional surgery could have been avoided had the patient selected the appropriate surgeon the first time.”
