Dr. Kridel shares expertise at International Plastic Surgery symposium in NYC

Houston facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Russell Kridel, was an invited guest faculty member at the recent international and interdisciplinary Rhinoplasty Symposium, “The Cutting Edge Aesthetic Surgery Symposium: Advanced Sculpting of the Nose in New York. Several hundred general plastic and facial plastic surgeons attended the conference, which featured the most respected aesthetic surgeons in the world. Dr. Kridel was selected for his world-renowned expertise in Rhinoplasty and Revision Rhinoplasty plastic surgery techniques. He presented four lectures on Rhinoplasty related topics; including, Ethnic Rhinoplasty, Use of Irradiated Cartilage, Profile Alignment and Dorsal Augmentation. As a recognized expert in Ethnic Rhinoplasty, Dr. Kridel presented, Thick-Skinned Ethnic Noses with Wide Alar Bases,” an in-depth coverage of his philosophy and techniques. Dr. Kridel has written numerous scientific medical journal articles on Ethnic Rhinoplasty, including; “African-American Rhinoplasty” in Facial Plastic Surgery medical journal.

Dr. Kridel was also asked to speak about “Irradiated Costal Cartilage: Longevity and Complications” for Rhinoplasty. Dr. Kridel published a landmark study on the subject ---“Long-Term Use and Follow-up of Irradiated Homologous Costal Cartilage Grafts in the Nose” He received special recognition for this exhaustive research study which followed over 350 patients from 4 months to 24 years. One of the talks included a five-minute video case presentation ---Individual Techniques for Profile Alignment and Osteotomies--- which included an interactive video that placed the attendees in the operating room with Dr. Kridel to demonstrate his specific nasal sculpting techniques. In addition, Dr. Kridel presented a anel discussion on “Long-Term Dorsal Augmentation Problems: Autologous, Alloplastic: Fixation, Shifting, Warping, Irregularities, Reabsorption, Extrusion,” to demonstrate to surgeons attending the conference how to explore and resolve difficult rhinoplasty challenges.
