This 55 year-old female was interested in rejuvenating the appearance of her face. In particular, she wished to soften the lines and wrinkles and improve the dark spots and skin discoloration from aging and sun damage. The patient was not ready for a facelift, but wanted more dramatic and longer lasting results than she was getting with fillers and Botox alone. The patient is very happy, stating that the results are "fabulous" and "fantastic." Laser skin resurfacing is an advanced skin rejuvenation treatment that uses laser beams of focused light localized to target trouble areas on the face. When a laser light hits its target, energy is released often in the form of heat to erase out the specific intended target without harming the surrounding tissues. It treats sun damage by stripping injured skin layer-by-layer with controlled precision.
