Good cheekbones greatly enhance facial harmony. By simply addressing the cheeks, all of the features can come together for an aesthetically pleasing look. Patients who have flat cheekbones or lack of fullness in the cheeks, can see dramatic results with cheek implant surgery. The goal of Houston plastic surgeons, Dr. Russell Kridel and Dr. Angela Sturm, is for you to achieve natural results tailored specifically to you, and not to just add prominent cheekbones.

Cheek augmentation surgery takes about an hour. Dr. Kridel and Dr. Sturm utilize a special medical-grade material, that both looks and feels like bone, to restore healthy contour to the cheeks. These come in a variety of shapes and sizes, easily tailored for each individual patient. To insert the implant, the surgeon will make an incision inside the mouth, between the upper gums and cheek. The soft cheek tissue is elevated, and a pocket is created over the cheekbone. Then, the surgeon slides the implant through the incision and stitches it in place.
"Dear Dr. Kridel, Today, One year after you operated me, I want to send you my greetings and my deepest grateful. I remember you very often. Every day whenever I breath, when I realize that my perforation is closed, I remember of you and I feel grateful for your expertise and your marvelous hands.?I will never forget you. I will never say thank you enough times.?Thousands of thanks and best regards."- J.G. / Office Visit / Mar 01, 2013
"I had a perforated septal perforation from a previous sinus surgery. My symptoms kept getting worse, so I wanted to see if anything could be done to repair the hole. I was referred to Dr. Kridel by my ENT doctor who said he was a specialist in this type of surgery. There is no question in my mind that I made the right decision to have Dr. Kridel do the surgery. My perforation is gone, my symptoms are gone and my life is back. The attention to detail and the level of care I received was beyond my expectations. Highly recommend."- J.B. / Google+ / Nov 15, 2014
"I chose this physician based on two physician referrals. I am a 60 year old female that had a face lift and lower bleph. I appear 20 younger from having had the surgery. Not only is he competent, but friendly and answers all questions. This procedure would have cost me double in NYC where I live. His pricing is in line with other plastic surgeons that I consulted with in the Houston area. YES I would recommend Dr. Kridel for facial reconstructive and cosmetic surgery."- Anonymous / RateMDs / Mar 09, 2012
"Expensive, but excellent, result repairing septal perforation caused by poor septoplasty overseas in 2009. I am so thankful my wife found Dr. Kridel through internet research & he was also highly recommended by a relative's neighbor (ENT) as being *The Best* at this procedure. In addition Dr. Kridel seemed to manage subtle 'straightening' of my nose as well. However I am most pleased at great success of surgery, as other doctors overseas and in Atlanta had only predicted 50-60% chance of fully closing reasonably large septal perforation. Dr. Kridel's staff were helpful and accommodating. He also trains up & coming medical 'fellows', sharing his expertise, knowledge and skills with young surgeons. Additionally if you have to spend several weeks in Houston to have healing carefully monitored, as I did, it is an interesting place to visit with plenty of museums, parks, shopping options and a huge variety of dining & (healthy) take-out food choices."- Anonymous / RateMDs / Feb 09, 2012
"I had facial plastic surgery done by Dr. Kridel and the results are amazing! I did a lot of research before I chose a facial plastic surgeon, and I highly recommend Dr. Kridel. The pre-operative and post-operative care is top-notch. He attends to every detail. His staff is professional, caring and very impressive. I am so pleased that I chose Dr. Kridel."- Anonymous / Vitals / May 06, 2012
Cheek augmentation is an outpatient procedure that is performed under general anesthesia at a nearby accredited surgical facility. There will be swelling and some numbness, but bruising is uncommon. The swelling subsides gradually and your new look settles in over a period of a few months. Most patients are able to return to work within a week. However, strenuous exercise should be avoided for a few weeks.
The cost of cheek implant surgery will vary depending on the complexity of the surgical case. However, the average cost for cheek implant surgery ranges between $3,750-$5,900.
